2010		Karly Pokerville Amador County Zinfandel Back in 2000, Turley Wine Cellars purchased Pesenti Winery in Paso Robles. At the time, this seemed like a bit of a head scratcher, as no one had heard of Pesenti, and Turley had never sourced fruit from them for its single-vineyard bottlings. Well, Larry Turley didn't become the biggest, baddest name in California Zinfandel by resting on his laurels. He has a vision about the Central Coast in general and Pesenti in particular. With Pesenti in the fold, Turley went after Dusi Ranch and Ueberroth Vineyard as additional valuable resources. All three vineyards have proven to be outstanding but Pesenti may be producing some of Turley's best Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs. In 2012 Turley purchased Karly Winery in Amador County with the intent of making it the third production facility along with Napa and the aforementioned Pesenti. The 2010 Karly Pokerville Amdaor County Zinfandel, which at the time was in the barrel, was blended by Larry Turley. So here's a sneak peek at what the "bones" of Turley Zins from the Karly Vineyard will look like: juicy, fruit-forward, medium-bodied, briary with nice spice and strawberries.
